It's one of my favorite things about the War on Christmas Season.

Every now and then somebody will tell me "well, if you like that stuff you REALLY ought to try mine."

No. Just stop. Save your breath. Save your effort. Stuff your pretension that you can improve upon perfection.

Mr. Claxton, whoever you were... thank you so much for this.

You must be the only person in the world who actually eats fruit cake.

Do you not want to spend Christmas alone this year? I'll put a gift under the tree for you. I have good bourbon too. Maggie can't come.

I think fruitcake might be the first thing I ever truly hated as a kid, and the fact that someone had the audacity to trick a child into thinking it was delicious by calling it cake made it that much more traumatic.

I agree with you, Rex.

Very rarely it goes on sale at the Commissary after Christmas. At that time I like to clean up because they are about half or more off regular price.

No one likes fruitcake.

It's a gift you give to those you hate.

So essentially, fruitcake is the Rex of the food world.

Some brands taste bad, true. Not Claxton. Claxton is special.

The fruit cake of which you speak is made in Claxton Georgia.

Lots of folks like it but I am not sure why.

eta: sorry, Slacker. I did not see your response.
