They are gonna take it off.

Just read they can't keep up with demand so they might have to age a little less than 12 and are taking 12 off the label just in case.

Just like they had to alter the Eagle Rare label taking off single barrel and moving 10 to the back.

10 will eventually disappear.

I blame the entire Bourbon shortage and the madness in the industry right now on jflsufan.

They may have their reason?? It now matches the ECBP label..

People are now looking and reaching for reasons to freak out.. CLEAR DA SHELLLLVVVVVEEES!!!! OMMMGGGZZZZ

Even if they do take away the age statement, 99.99% of people, including myself, will never be able to tell the difference.

Officials from Heaven Hill have since stated the move was to standardize the look of the labels across all Elijah Craig products. That may indeed be the case. But with rumors circulating for the past several months that the supply of Elijah Craig at 12 years old in its price point were in danger of running thin, it can be no coincidence that Heaven Hill has de-emphasized the age of Elijah Craig- once amongst its most prominently stated attributes. If, as Heaven Hill has stated, the object was to emphasize the differences between each offering (small batch, single barrel, and barrel proof), they have a funny way of doing that, as the font and size of the “Small Batch” writing doesn’t seem to have changed. The only change seems to be the removal of the large red font “12” that has been replaced by a small drawing of a barrel, which in no way accomplishes what Heaven Hill says they are aiming for. Yes, my fellow bourbon lovers, it appears Elijah Craig 12 Year Old bourbon will soon be just another in a long list of ageless bourbons.

Its sepcualation, but why make the change?

I don't believe it is to keep their labels looking unified.

ETA: Could be just unification though, I would hope so.

This. Mark Brown (CEO BT) said that the 10 year will stick around until at least 2047.

Exactly. frickin smelly Hipsters with too much time on their hands are the main cause of all this panic and rumors. It's getting ridiculous.

The following have caused all of this insane label altering and back room dealing:

1.jflsufan
2. Q-Bin
3. Facebook

Our only beacon of hope lies in the wings, waiting to help us all in a time of need:
