How's that BB? I saw some at the liquor store in my building but didn't know anything about it so I went with the 4R instead.

Got my hands on a bottle of Weller Antique over the weekend. That is one delicious cheap bourbon.

I'm picking up a bottle of 4 roses single barrel this week for the first time.

Should I buy the standard issue or the Calandro's special edition?

If they still have the Jim Rutledge selected bottle I'd suggest that.

I think you're thinking about the knob creek that Fred Noe picked for them. I think they selected all of their 4Roses bottles. I could be wrong though

They had both at one point but I think these are likely long gone, I know my bottle is.

They only had them at the Perkins location from what I recall.

i think they all said they were selected by JR on the label. they picked like 4 different barrels.

and yes, i am aware it was/is Perkins only

Maybe so, if he didn't actually pick them then it was effective marketing implying that they were because I picked up both of them.

I compared the Balvenie Doublewood to the Carribean Cask tonight. I probably need to spend more time on the Carribean Cask since I am almost finished with the doublewood bottle, but I think I preferred the doublewood. It had a more intense, smokey flavor. The Carribean Cask was still very good and you can really taste the rum. Both are great, but the nod goes to DW ( it's cheaper too).

baws this is one of the best tasting whiskey I've had the pleasure to pour, a blend of bourbon, rye and scotch that some how works so well, you can taste vanilla and some fruit, spice, and rye which fades to allow the peat and smoky taste to come in
its in my top 10

No shite, I almost bought a bottle at whole foods yesterday.

One of the staff members said it's incredible as well.

I'll check it out soon and report back.

JACANS, it's at Whole Foods in BR.

I think it's around $55.
