Went to Cottonwood's in Houston yesterday, got excited when i saw on the wall they had Old Van Winkle and the 12 year. I ordered three glasses neat of the 12 year for myself, brother in law and cousin since we were celebrating my brother in law's 40th birthday. Waitress came back and told us they weren't going to be serving them until New Year's eve

Does anyone have an extra Stagg they'd part with for a 2013 AECS? Thanks in advance!

Churchill's and Martin's in BR have ER10 select barrels. Has anyone tried either? How did it stack up against the regular stuff availble elsewhere?

About this much

It's pretty surprising. Marked improvement over ordinary KC. Drinking neat, it's a hair hotter than my recollection of the regular, but certainly smoother than 120 proof would suggest. I struggle with articulation for this as it's not my go to beverage and I lack the probably familiar vocabulary, but I feel like there's a lot of char and wood happening. Perhaps a little peppery? Some sort of spice. There's some sweetness that happens on the back end, a kind of caramel/vanilla. At least that's what I get.

Regardless, I like it. And a hell of a value.

Unc, I appreciate the advice. The 4Roses was gifted to y'all's favorite bourbon drinker, 4miles

Owed him a little something.

Got called yesterday saying I was drawn for a Thomas handy bottle and have until end of tomorrow if I want it. Is this worth buying at retail? Never had it and usually aim for stagg, wlw, er17.

Hell yea I'd get it. Handy isn't my first choice either but I've only ever passed on it because I already had several. It is a very good rye
