For me it is...smells like childhood to me. Digging in the dirt and grass to find worms and doodlebugs. Sounds weird but it is perfect...just takes some getting used to.

I have always wanted to try Lagavulin, it's Ron Swanson's scotch of choice after all. I don't think I'm ready for it though. Still like the Glens and Highland Park. Do want to try and develop a better taste for scotch one day.

That's some Cajun talk right there...lol

BR, it's better to me but not necessarily better scotch. I fell in love e with peat immediately; some it never happens for..no harm either way.

It certainly takes some getting used to, first time I had Lagavulin 16 I wasn't ready for it and wasn't a fan

I got some L16 UJ just let me know if you want a taste first.

TA what Tom12 did you get? I got one from martins that is really good. I forget the specifics of it off the top of my head.

I warms my heart to see scotch starting to wiggle its way into this bourbon dominated thread.

In my opinion:
Bad scotch is worse than bad bourbon
Mediocre scotch is about the same as mediocre bourbon
Good scotch is better (by a lot) than good bourbon.

Discuss.....

Maybe you're right,.. I haven't had enough scotch to disagree with you BUT I know I haven't had a taste of single malt that would make me choose it over a pour of WLW, GTS, or PVW20

What about the "Maybe you're right" part of the quote?
