Drank - you are correct that the GTS and WLW are darker and richer in color compared to their BTAC siblings.

The Sazerac 18 is an interesting mix of oak, spice, and even a bit of sweetness. At 90 proof it is incredibly easy to drink and very enjoyable.

The Old Rip is something I could drink every day - 107 proof and a wheater is a great mix for me between sweetness and proof.

The GTS and WLW are the stars of the show. Bold and beautiful, powerful enough to be extremely interesting but not overbearing, and just so damn good.

As fall rolls around and we start seeing cooler temps and new releases things will pick up. This thread slows down every summer.

haven't seen any WP anywhere. You guys must have some wise-guys-back-alley deals going down on all these rares. Or Texas is just outside the circle really bad by decades

What part of Houston are you in? My local specs has both the regular WP and a store pick as well.

Also, don't remember any specific stores, but whenever I'm in a new part of town I always make it a point to run into a few random stores. I've come across plenty of blantons, Weller 107 and even a couple harder to find bottles like some mitchers toasted and ECBP

Hey GF. I'm out in Cypress. How bout yourself? I typically frequent Specs out here at 290/Fry. I also get over to the Katy (Mason) store which is actually better. Went to the downtown store on Smith for first time last week. Where I got the EHT SB. That place rocks.

Noah's Mill is a bourbon that people can't seem to agree on. I think it is a quality control issue. I've had three bottles of it in the past. The first was so good that when it ran out, I immediately bought another. The second one was awful. I decided to give it another chance and the third was just ok. Very inconsistent in my opinion.

Hey Dude...I tried a bottle and for the first time yet, I had a bourbon that was awful. I mean piss poor bad awful. Should have listened to you. Oh well, drink and learn.

I switched from Jack Daniel's to Evan Williams, easier on the wallett. I recently tried and liked Buffalo Trace. Paired with a nice cigar, bourbon is amazing.

Lol, it happens. I've got a couple bottles that I've had opened for over 2 years. We all accidentally buy a turd every once in a while.

Grats tilco!

Be sure and let me know how it compares(differences/similarities) to ECSmB12? EC has steadily climbed my ladder into "favorite" daily pour. I haven't had a Barrel Proof yet. TIA

I've found that the smaller specs stores are hit or miss on selection. I'm fortunate that my local stores (Kingwood or Atascocita) are usually pretty well stocked though so I don't have to venture down to the main store all that often.

The specs in Kingwood is where I saw the WP store pick (~$100) and I'd also recommend a goody goody if you've got one in the area
