Coming in from Mobile in the morning for the game. Where should I stop to get boudin for breakfast?

ETA: Ok, we stopped on the way back at Chris' Specialty Meats on Millerville. No cracklin and didnt seem to have hot boudin. So we asked where we could get cracklin, and they sent us to Ronnies.

Ronnies cracklin and boudin was great on the ride home. Now, I dont get cracklin and boudin often living over here, so maybe it was due to memory loss of what great boudin and cracklin tastes like.

We also went back to Chris' and took home some stuffed chickens, pork chops and sausage. They all look good, so here's hopin.

You're SOL on this side. If you do find a spot, please post back here and update us.

It's actually a great idea for a business at the mall exit in Slidell.

Chris' off of Millerville would be your easiest bet. You could always hit Ronnie's on Florida in town. Not too far out your way.

The Boudin Chris's sells is Ronnies Boudin.
Going to pay a little more for it there, but for only a few links, its not worth the drive to Ronnies.

If you're going to exit at Millerville, drive another 10-15 minutes into town and hit Jerry Lee's.

You're getting "town" confused with Central. By "town" we mean Baton Rouge. In the city limits preferably.

Most overrated boudin in Louisiana.

Ronnie's is the best in town.

Just the regular.

Another option is to cross the bridge to Port Allen and go to Bergeron's.

Never been a fan of Bergerons Boudin.- I love everything else there however.

Just my opinion

Ronnies > Jerry Lee's > Bergerons on Boudin

However

Jerry Lee's Hog Head Cheese is tops

Since you're coming to LSU, do as the above guy suggested and just pop over the bridge to Bergeron's in Port Allen. Take the second exit (Lobdell, not La 1) and go north and it'll be on the right, say about a mile, before the second traffic light you'll hit.

completely agree!!!

Poche's on Bluebonnet (inside Boutins) has pretty darn good boudin.

I thought Poche's boudin was too salty and was bland when I got it a few weeks back.

Their plate lunches are great though.

Someboady told me about a Chevron Station in Geismar that makes/sells boudin. He said it's decent. Anybody heard of the place?

Also, he said that the Gourmet Butcher Block on Belle Chase Hwy on the Westbank of New Orleans makes some good boudin.

Any opinions of those two places would be greatly appreciated. I've got a few more pounds of frozen boudin from Best Stop in my freezer, but it's going fast, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get over to Scott, LA any time soon.
