Haydels plain, but if I must have a filling, Bavarian cream does it for me.

Dong Phuong, with creme cheese filling. Their icing and filling are not to excess, and the bread is fantastic and keeps longer than others.

Cream cheese. Sometimes praline cream cheese but most places that do this one tend to make it too sweet. The good ones are basically pecans and cream cheese with a just little bit of the caramelized sugar for flavoring.

Randazzo's is the king and there is no other equal.

You can bring up Haydels, that Donut place that makes one, or wherever.........but at the end of the day Randazzo's is the GOAT, and its not close.

This is the pinnacle of fancy king cakes and I'll enjoy one a season. I generally prefer a regular no-icing no-filling cake.

Randazzo's for sure. Its so good that it is one of those places that is cool to hate on. They have the dough on point, and one of the few places that understand you need icing on every inch of the top of the cake.

Caluda's sucks. Had one last week. Rouses makes a better cake
