Good apple sauce brings me back to grandpa's farm.

Shitty fried pork chops or meatloaf reminds me of living with mom.

Barq's Red Creme Soda. Dad use to always bring them around on a friday. I realize it is still around, but I no longer drink soft drinks. It's still a nice memory.

Rough childhood?

This one is for all the brah's, Sunny's snowballs or malts/shakes. I remember after ball games, or any little event going to Sunny's for a nice treat. Place looks exactly the same today as it did 20+ years ago.

Just curious, did your mother bread the okra herself? I love fried okra but I always buy it frozen. Thinking of trying to bread my own. The moisture content of okra seems like it would make it hard to do without a bunch of work.

Liver Cheese sammiches remind me of the poverty I grew up in. Close second would be vienna sausages.

Frito Pies. Reminds me of watching basketball games in those "band box" size gyms in Evangeline and St. Landry parishes.

Honestly, I can't think of any food that stokes a particular memory. Kind of sad.
