I know Latil's Landing does one. What are some others of note?

I'm thinking multi-course "blind" tasting menu where you don't know what you're going to get.

Coquette is starting one this coming Tuesday and will continue having it the last Tuesday of each month

I would imagine it's not worth even considering BR for this question.

What do you mean by "tasting menu"? Blind tasting?

Coquette always has one, Commander's, August. Many places have a prix-fixe.

Wow that's awesome. Probably won't be able to get near the place though.

Yeah probably true, but I wanted to include it just in case.

Correction - Yes, I do mean a blind tasting menu.

Isn't Square Root in NOLA done in this style?

I haven't been since it's a few hundred dollars for a couple. But I also hear it is outstanding.

In fact I think that's all they offer. I'm sure it's oustanding but yes, definitely not cheap.

What is the benefit of a blind tasting? I think most places doing elaborate, 10, 15, 20 course meals give you a menu or at least a list of dishes.

A blind tasting is a figment of the dining imagination. It really only exists if you walk into a restaurant and just say, "Bring me food until I say stop." Even then you are probably getting, and should, the bill of fare. And most restaurants can pull that off.

The surprise, the anticipation. It's a great experience.

Again, a tasting menu can be awesome thing. But I cant think of one place that does a truly blind tasting either in BR or NO or most other locales or restaurants that have tasting menus.

In fact, having a menu is better because you can imagine what the dish might be and usually it is vastly different.

You done Square Root?

I don't know if it is or isn't a "blind tasting". I was just curious if you've been and what your thoughts were, if so.

Have not. Had a nice evening on the balcony of Root Squared a few months ago though.

If OP really wants a blind tasting, go into Coquette and tell them to start sending out food.

The best I have ever been to is the Chef's Table at Commander's Palace. Course after course of fabulous food paired with excellent wines. They do a slightly scaled down version of it in the main dining room and call it the chef's playground menu.
