homemade ice cream.

takes me back to growing up. my dad would do it several times during the summer. had some old rinky-dink wooden ice cream maker that sounded like an old electric can opener on its last few turns. i think it finally bit the dust and he invested in a nicer, bigger one. i need to get one.

I never will forget the way I felt, when I got strong enough to turn the crank on our old wooden (picket fence lookin') ice cream makin' bucket).

Then everybody left me outside under the pecan tree, while they went to the porches to sit under the fans. A day of mixed emotions,, life changed about that time in life,, on the farm!!

The lady is frying salmon patties as we speak. Rice with tomato gravy and sliced a tomato, cucumber, and a Vidalia onion with Italian dressing. Store bought Key lime pie for desert.

Is it melted or just cut from a wedge? I love ginger snaps, but I've never thought of cheddar on them. I use them for a blue cheese spread, though. Blue cheese and gingersnaps are terrific.

Just cut from the wedge. My mom introduced me to cheddar on ginger snaps in the 60's. Doesn't seem that long ago tho. Still tastes the same.
