Rouses on airline is not bad. 8$ for two meat and 2 sides.

Just killed some Killens. I'm in a deep meat sweat and may not be able to Drive. Pork belly and. Brisket in the 2 meat plate. Fried Mac and cheese and bowl of bread pudding. Dear God the bread pudding.

BBQ in baton rouge is always bad IMO. if you have to ask was the sauce good you don't need to go back! sides should never determine if you eat a BBQ place.

If they figure out their brisket problem would you go back?

Looks great! Obviously not the concept they are going with but I am sure it is delicious.

Im not sayin I wont go back... just hate their brisket sucks. Wanted BR to have a great one, ala alot of Tx joints. Several things on the menu I want to try.

That is the best bread pudding I've ever had. Stuffs incredible!

brisket looks pretty dry. And looks like dry flat, not point.
BBQ has to be the hardest restaurant to run

Hopefully they read the criticism and make changes. Like mentioned, it almost looks like it has just been sitting out a little bit and lost all it's juice.

Not in BR, but Big Jakes in St. Gabriel is solid.

My BRQ review
The coleslaw was decent and I'm being kind
I went with a friend and we got 2 apps and a side to share as a meal. Neither of us are BBQ people, but their app menu is fun.
Pork belly, charred broccoli, and fried green tomatoes. Everything tasted great, although I do realize now that I am not into pork belly like I thought.
BUT - An hour after getting home, I threw up. 20 minutes later, my friend threw up. I was okay after that, but she got the other kind of stomach sick for the rest of the night. I can't/won't blame BRQ because we both ate the same thing for lunch so it might have been lunch rather than dinner that got us sick, but the memory burned into my mind of being sick doesn't have me in a rush to eat any of those items any time soon.

Here in Austin, they ask you if you want "Lean or Moist".
I get brisket from a cafe in a grocery store that looks better than that pic of BRQ. Not joking, the Cafe Mueller inside HEB has awesome brisket.

I'm partial to TX BBQ. Ain't seafood, but it's as good of turf as I'm gone get.
So here's my question: Why wouldn't someone opening a BBQ joint in Red Stick model it after the TX joints? How hard is it to learn? Simply learn from those who are doing it well.
I had Roegel's today - two meat lunch (ribs and brisket) and it was incredible.
