Not really. Both are around $1000 and bge will outlive any gas grill out there.

I recently bought the BGE and I like it. But I liked my Weber before also. I've only cooked on it 4 or 5 times and I'm learning, but I can see the advantages already.

One of the advantages is supposed to be the consistent temperature the BGE keeps. But if you don't have the vents just right or you are looking too often it can get too hot.

I have a Kamado Joe in Black. Had it for 2 years about 175 cooks under my belt, outstanding results. I have seen them also made in LSU colors.
I paid $800 plus another 90 or so in accessories

Pretty sure only the XL is oval shaped. The large is round just like a BGE if I'm not mistaken.

I think I saw them at Tramonte's in Baton Rouge. It's a specialty meat and seafood place that also sells ceramic grills
