For those of you who limit sugar intake, do you count fresh fruit in your sugar totals for the day? Been trying to cut back specifically on sugar just to be healthier in general, not for any specific health reason if that matters... I'm finding mixed reviews and I was just curious.

Just eat it sparingly. A piece or two a day is probably negligible. The fiber helps the sugar digest slowly so it doesn't immediately turn into fat like most sugars. Stay away from fruit juices all together. That stuff has all the sugar but none of the fiber.

Not eating a piece or 2 of fresh fruit because of sugar is pretty excessive. Fruit is good for you. But yeah fruit juices are pretty much just sugar

Do what the keto baws do...

I'd just have 1-2 servings/day of a fruit lower in sugar, i.e. berries, grapefruit, & avocado.

Your body requires carbohydrates to survive. Cutting back is not the same as cutting out. If you want to cut back on your sugar, do so with refined sugars. Do not cut back on fruit; it is too important for its health benefits.

As far as counting it, that only matters if you are actually counting your sugar grams per day. In this case, yes count them. If you are simply watching your intake and not keeping numerical track, then don't worry about it.

Basically, cut out the refined sugars and keep eating fruit.

Why?
I take a vitamin C supplement and a daily.

Fruit can be cut out of your diet if you have the right supplements.

I'm not here to start a debate telling you not to eat fruit or what diet to follow, but regarding your above statement...No it doesn't. Your brain requires glucose. The body has a natural mechanism called gluconeogenesis. There are essential fatty acids. There are essential amino acids. There are no essential carbohydrates.

Of course. It is sugar.

not for any specific health reason

If you are thin and healthy there is no reason to not eat fruit. If you have specific health concerns, which you do not, there are plenty of reasons to not eat sugar.

Stop with the money wasting. Non-green peppers have more vitamin C than an orange.

Completely false. But you know that. Or at least should know that before running your trap.
