I'm going to be in DC for about 10 days later this month. Does anybody have any restaurant suggestions?

I find that you the food board is best for local dining. I've gotten much better suggestions for travel dining from the OT

I don't agree. They do great for most major cities.

We were there in Feb. and ate at some very good restaurants. We stayed at the Willard which is right across the side street from the White House. A block away was the Ebbitts Grill, the oldest restaurant in town.. Very good food and an old historic bar. Tosca has excellent Italian food. The Blue Duck Tavern in the Hyatt was excellent. Great ethnic food there. Rasika for Indian food and Zaytinia for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. We had a very good dinner at Central. It was a big Mardi Gras celebration held the Thursday after Mardi Gras, postponed from Mardi Gras night because of a snowstorm. Enjoy.

Old Ebbitt's Grill is really good. I had the meatloaf and mash potatoes. They also have really good specialty drinks

Old Ebbitt's Grill
Calamari was dam strong and try the Cannelloni. Theres a reason its been on the menu for 30 years. Everything on the menu is pretty good. Worked there in the late 80s.

Johnny Boy Carryout
Best pork ribs I Have ever eaten. If you like hot then get the spicy sauce. Feel the burn. Fried chicken wings were good also. Only take cash and there is a couple inches of bullet proof glass but don't let that deter you. Would say go during day or early evening.

4125 Southern Avenue
Capitol Heights MD just across the DC MD line. Take Pennsylvania ave south east till you get to Southern ave and take a left.

Central by Michel Richard, any Jose Andres spot (love Jaleo), and loads of good ethnic in Adams Morgan.

Old Ebbit is skippable. Every town has an Old Ebbit Grill

Agreed. I'm trying to think of a NO equivalent.

Rasika is great though.
