We had the sweetbreads which were tasty. Buddy had the Butcher's cut which looked good and he seemed to like it but was not too excited about mash/puree that came with it. I had the 21 day rib eye and was extremely underwhelmed. I can get a better cut of rib eye at the grocery store. A rib eye has more fat which adds to the flavor but the fat on this one seemed more like gristle. No side as I was planning on eating the whole rib eye but ended up leaving about 1/4 of it on the plate. That plus two drinks each was not worth the $171 + tip. Highly unlikely that I will return for a second visit.

IDK. The flame on the one you posted is pretty awesome.

I can't wait to visit. They seem to really go above and beyond. You should see some of the things they post that they've done for people's birthdays and engagements.

Birthday Ramos Gin Fizz for a customer.

Special menu with a proposal printed for a customer.

Guess they're catering to their dimwitted audience. A lot of people think that's how a ribeye is supposed to be.

I'm curious, how did you order the ribeye? Med-rare? If the steak wasn't cooked enough, it could have left the fat unrendered.

I usually want my ribeye just under medium.

Ordered it medium. I thought it came out a bit over medium but my server said I was mistaken.

I haven't yet been to Doris Metropitan, but I've decided that I don't like it. Not sure why. A concept or approach that's trying too hard from the get go?

Can someone tell me it's great?

Other than this thread, I've only heard raves about it.

In fact, this thread makes me nervous because I was excited to go in a few weeks, and now y'all have me considering La Boca!

Not sure yet. I'll be in town next weekend, but that's not when we're going. (Was actually considering Amelie for Sunday lunch/brunch, I assume you recommend since you're always there?) And obviously not during Mardi Gras.

It was going to be for Jones' birthday, so I guess closer to that, which is March.

It's real good I thought. Great? I don't know, but I've never been to a steakhouse that I would label such. I appreciate them trying, though.
