Have you planted, how many and are they in the ground or pots?

re: Tomato Planting
Early march, started in small pots, transitioned to raised bed, 8 plants.

Got 5 or 6 maters, and 3 of 8 have already fruited.

re: Tomato Planting
Glad a gardening thread was started. I planted plants right around april fool's day. The weather in NELA has been really poor for the most part since then. I have had 3 cucumber and 2 squash plants die since planting. Cant figure out of its just the weather, bad soil, or lack of sun. My raised bed garden gets full sun until around 2pm, then its just gets indirect light. Thoughts?

Oh I have 5 tomatoes, 4 eggplant, 2 squash, 3 jalapenos, 1 habanero, various lettuce varieties and various herbs.

Can you plant all of these in pots? I've been starting threads on the outdoor board.

I'd like some Tomatoes and peppers, and i'm probably going to plant a fig and blood orange in the ground.

re: Tomato Planting
I put seeds in early March. Damn if we didn't have the coldest March in history. Hell, we're having the coldest April in history. It's April 11 in Louisiana and it was 39 degrees last night.

The sprouts are only 2 inches tall and not nearly ready for re-potting.

re: Tomato Planting
I put in my transplants on Ash Wednesday. About a dozen plants: beefmaster, celebrity, better boy, cherry, and a few others I can't recall. Beautiful vines, lots of flowers, just not much fruit setting yet. A few pea sized tomatoes at this point. It's been dry; today's rain will help.

ETA: my peppers (cajun belle, jalapeno, regular bell, habanero) overwintered, as did some of the basil.

re: Tomato Planting
I have 12 tomato plants, all in pots. Planted about a week ago and they have doubled in size.

I wanted to plant 3-4 squash in buckets but haven't gotten around to it. Would also like a few peppers.

Hope you have a cool spot for growing. Tomatoes won't set fruit when nighttime lows stay above 70 degrees, which is reliably mid June in my backyard garden on the southshore.

sun gold cherry

Damn those are the best tasting little things and grow like a weed. I was pissed that I couldn't find any at the nursery last week.
I planted some Carolina golds and some sweet million cherry tomatoes. Got a good drenching this afternoon.

re: Tomato Planting
All of my seedlings are still under grow lights. Held off on planting to avoid today's bad weather.

I have no idea how many tomatoes and peppers I have... I fill up the garden and then start giving the rest away to friends.

I overwintered one habernero strain that I am looking forward to babying this summer.
