I don't post a whole lot on here and I am not one to nit pick and complain about restaurants, so for me to post this speaks volumes.

Ordered TJ Ribs to go tonight and it was beyond awful in portions, quality, and taste.

Crabmeat stuffed mushrooms $10.95 - 4 tiny mushrooms - way overpriced

ribs and brisket combo $13.95 - 2 pieces of brisket and 4 little ribs - way overpriced.

These two things I can deal with. Its not my business what they choose to charge. The last item was the deal breaker..

Chop House Caesar salad $11.95 - it was completely inedible. It had so much dressing on it it was like soup. I also have never picked up a to-go salad that already dressed. Put the dressing in the side so it doesn't become a ball of mush. The steak on the salad was also way overcooked.

I know the manager posts here sometimes so I hope he sees this and fixes his problems because I normally like the place, but tonight turned me off for a while.

Definitely not a good take out restaurant. I tried to get something to go during the NCAA tournament last April, but it was really early, like 5:30 and I was probably stuck in there at the bar until about 6:15 and the hostess didn't even come over (despite what she said) to tell me my order was ready.

I'm not about to defend them in any way, but I would think a letter/phone call/email to the general manager before posting here would be a better option.

Beauxnes is a partial owner and he used to post here regularly, but TJ was also a sponsor, have not seen him post in a while, which is sad because he was a great contributor. Anyway if you call and ask to speak to Kevin, he will bend over backwards to make the situation right and will also fix the issues you encountered.

I considered that, but I honestly was in no mood to talk to anyone about it and make them feel like I was just trying to get a free meal. I think this forum is a better way to light a fire under their arse and fix problems rather than just one person calling/writing them. This hits harder.

I am sorry that we let you down tonight Rohan. It sounds like we missed on several fronts. I hope you will give us the chance to make it up to you, not because I think you want a free meal, but because it is important to me that no one has a bad experience in our restaurants without us doing the best we can to correct the problem and try to replace the bad experience.

I can assure you that I take every complaint, no matter how I receive them, to heart and look into every aspect of each one.

If you would, please contact me when you feel up to it, so that I can at least try to take care of your next experience. My email is very simple, Kevin@TJRibs.com.

I appreciate you bringing these things to my attention and I look forward to earning your business once again.

It's people like you who make a restaurant a success. I've seen you make similar posts in the past as well. I've been fortunate to never have a bad experience at TJ's, and I hope that continues, but it's good to know that someone like you is at the helm if I ever have a problem.

Thanks for the faith, Tigerpaw123. I love this site and really enjoy being a part of it but unfortunately have just not made enough time in my day to contribute. I guess between work and kids I just kind of fell off the TD world. I will make an effort to do more of the things I enjoy, like this site (after I fix my "togo" issues!)

Thanks again!

I got take out from them last season and wasn't impressed. I'm a huge rib lover, it's the only thing I'll get from bbq places.

There was way too much sauce and like you said, the portions sucked. The ribs were way too short and I ordered the St. Louis cut of ribs. These were shorter than regular baby backs.

I want to give it another go but that makes it tough. One should be able to take a bite out of a rib and just pull the bite away from the bone, the rest of the meat stays on the bone. Not take a bite and pull the entire thing off the bone, that's too tender. Just make it boneless ribs if that's how their going to be cooked.

Coming from someone whose family is in the restaurant business, I respect you for publicly posting that and trying to right a wrong. Well done!

Good of you to take the OP's concern to heart.

I always liked TJ Ribs, your post tells me a lot about how the place is run.

Maybe I'll swing by there tomorrow after the game!

I will gladly pay $2 to $2.50 and up, per stuffed mushroom, if they are of the size and/or quality of say the old Giamanco's..which were huge and great.

Sadly, there are few good ones in BR, and they generally are very small.

We had a very good meal there after the NT game. My pack of teenage boys loved it.

Beauxnes knows how to run a restaurant. You have a problem, let him know. He will fix it and he appreciates the criticism. My recent meal there was right on target.

Kudos Beaux.

After a thread here last week....I took several clients to lunch on Acadian thursday.

I typically find TJ's to be quite consistant.

Wish you put the blackened redfish topped with bbq shrimp on the menu as a constant lunch special! That, and a wing appetizer, is a fine meal!
