SBD: was a Rodenbach Grand Cru at lunch. About to have a 3BD but need to make a decision. Too much to chose from.

Posted by Message Georgia Peach Thursday's FBD Why is that? Right now it is like warm and has kinda a bitter/alcoholish after taste. I've noticed with others I didn't like them when they were warm but when cold I really liked. Maybe because it his the alcohol flavor at the end better? I know I don't have a beer palate since I can not distinguish various flavors in some beers like a few of you lol

The style is not meant to be enjoyed ice cold due to the high alcohol content in imperial stouts. I'm not saying you should drink it hot by any means, but it should be chilled just slightly. This allows you to sip the beer and enjoy it longer. I'd say around 60 degrees is right. If I'm drinking a stout I'm going to let it warm a bit before opening. Just more enjoyable and I don't end up shitfaced after just a couple of high ABVbeers. Hope this makes sense. Maybe someone else can explain better. This ain't Coors Light you're drinking.

Following the bottle share on twitter... Some very nice brews being consumed thus far, plus some Dom Perignon

FBD Homebrew Dubbel....bout 1 year old and the cloying sweetness of when it was young has now mellowed. Not a bad beer. I'll for sure add my candy syrup into the boil rather than at high krausen like I did on this one.....checking in on the Turn Her Head 360 IbUIiIpA bubbling away...

For one, wasn't invited. But even if I was I have to be awake at 3:00am...not ideal time for a tasting event.

I don't do the twitter machine, what's happening on there?

Last I saw on B's they were cleansing their palates with Dom. I anticipate the big guns coming soon...

Finishing up a mini tour at Old Chicago so my first beers were unremarkable but I got this box in today. The growler is Boneyard Notorious, supposed to be better than Pliny the Younger.
