Just a heads up.
If you've ever considered buying a Thermapen now is a great time. Thermapen classics for only $59.

Don' want to hijack your thread for I bought this ThermaPro on Amazon for $10 and so far it works great. Gets pretty good reviews.

There are plenty of lower cost alternatives out there, I was just posting this for anyone wanting an actual Thermapen.

I love mine and use it several times a week, it has made me a much better cook and one of the best kitchen gadgets I have ever bought

Should you buy it? Depends on how much cooking you do, will you use it and what $59 means to your budget

Accuracy, reliability, speed, but the alternatives are fine.

Good price. I've had the classic for years, but I still bought the newest model several months ago.

On the new one, the numbers screen is backlit when you open it, and the numbers flip (like an iphone) depending on the angle you hold it.

It may sound dumb, but that was enough for me to justify the cost of the new one. I often cook outside at night and really like the back-light feature.
