The Ice Cream Aisle

It is a sad state of affairs down the ice cream aisle at the grocery stores. Ever since Blue Bell recalled all of their products, it looks like they have been replaced with a minimum quantity of knock off brand ice cream that I've never even heard of. The shelves look bare almost.

I try to eat clean and walk down the ice cream aisle every week and just drool. Haven't bought ice cream in years

Wonder how long it'll take 'em to get their product back on the shelves? A summer without some Blue Bell just ain't the same.

I was pretty disappointed in several I tried, then Mayfield, which I had never heard of, popped up on the shelves at Winn Dixie. Their French Vanilla is the best I've ever tasted. I primarily use it for making shakes - Brown's Dairy chocolate milk with vanilla ice cream and a little Carnation malt mix. Also got hooked on their Butter Pecan with hot Butterscotch on top.

Trader Joe's ice cream is awesome. I'm not going to buy anything else until someone specifically suggests something better.

I'm eating Baskin Robbins Creme Brûlée and Bananas Foster right now watching my wife make stuffed bellpeppers. Man this is good.

I've been eating a brand called "Cow Belle".
I've tried two flavors. Chocolate and Butter Pecan.
The Chocolate was rich and creamy, and very good.
The Butter Pecan was lacking flavor. It was like it wasn't sweet enough.
I would say it's one of the best chocolate ice creams in the freezer section.

NOLA is my go-to ice cream. Those guys make some good stuff.
