Yeah I know I was planning on being in Argentina for the summer taking classes but that fell through. So I am way behind on trying to find a clerkship...

I would try your Career Services Dept. or there is always non-paid internships at D.A.'s offices so you could at least get something on your resume for the summer. I know the former is a long-shot, but I just had a friend, who is still in law school, luck out when he called because a firm had just called them looking for a clerk since one of their clerks had backed out at the last minute.

I have put some thought into it, but I can't think of anything available. I will see some friends from some firms tonight at Wednesday at the Square so I will ask if their firms are looking and track you down on here if I hear of anything.

I've never been to the one in NOLA but from reading the website I'm excited for this place to open

You should try out Uptown Bars next time you are in NOLA...and skip Bourbon St.

Bulldog, Balcony, Columns, Bridge Lounge, F and M's, Grits, Storyville, Monkey Hill, Cooter's.

Bulldog and Cooter Brown's if you are into beer.

With the exception of Pat O's and Galatoire's, locals generally avoid Bourbon St. at all costs.

Absinthe House...Lafitte's...Rick's...locals do Bourbon street, too. Just saying...

Laffite's is on Bourbon, but not really.
Don't know how I forgot Absinthe.

I was just trying to make a point that when my friends and I go out...maybe 90-95% its not on Bourbon.
Then you come to this board and hear LA people call NOLA dirty, vulgar and classless when there entire experiences with nightlife revolve around Bourbon St.
Uptown is one of the best bar areas I have ever been to. We have a great, local bar scene that mainly does not center around 8 blocks of bars on Bourbon.

Frenchman, Decatur, Magazine and the FQ have some of the best bars around...anywhere. I'd put Laffite's up against any bar in the U S of A. Locals need to get with the quarter more than they do. Especially in the summertime when the tourists are gone. Stella on Friday. Fired up.

You should be!

I agree...I will be there for the festivals this weekend. I was actually about to start a food-related NOLA thread this afternoon with summer specials, festivals and SoFab's opening.

I am a Column's man myself, but I do love Lafitte's.

Thanks, TigerAttorney! I appreciate it. I tried the DA's office in Jefferson and they are overstocked w/ clerks but I have a judge checking around for me.

The bulldog is supposed to open up late summer in Baton Rouge according to my source who has them as her client. I am hoping the one in BR is more like the one in Lakeview than Uptown (sad to say this since I am from Uptown) just because it is bigger and not so congested. I'll give her a shout to see if she knows the exact day of the grand opening and get back with the board.

I agree, but the Uptown one has better (cough, cough) scenery and is closer to other bars.

For those of you who frequent Metairie, the Bulldog people also own Lagers(Vets at Severn). This is closer to my house than the Bulldog locations, but I still manage to end up at the Midcity/Lakeview location once a month or so.

It ain't a cheap beer place, but if you like good brew these places are for you.

Sounds/looks like a cool place, but sadly I won't be frequenting it because I do not think too kindly of the property owner and refuse to knowingly put money in his pocket.

ummm...how do I answer this nicely?...it blows every other beer bar in BR out of the water.

I totally agree. This is the best news since we got a Martin Wine Cellar and PF Changs. Now we must get a Houstons.

Going downtown is kind of a pain in the arse and the scenery is much better uptown.
