I have a co-worker who is looking for a lunch spot and he is a pain about wanting large shrimp on his po-boys. I'm more concerned with flavor, bread, etc myself, but he has been on a mission for large shrimp.

What places do you suggest?

Can't think of a place right now, but I also prefer larger shrimp on poboys. Too much breading when there are a bunch of small ones, in my opinion. One of the reasons, I usually order a fried oyster poboy over shrimp.

I believe Mahoney's has one using large shrimp.

Parkway's are decent size, if I remember correctly. Theirs aren't huge, but they're certainly not popcorn.

I just checked their menu and they do have a jumbo fried shrimp listed.
I'm thinking of going here. I want to get the roast beef, so I'm assuming we will both leave pretty happy.

Mahoneys. Parkway uses a quality size shrimp but Mahoneys is the only with jumbo to my knowledge. Bring your checkbook.

Not me. I don't like small shrimp, but the large ones are too big. When I take a bite, I want a shrimp in there. I don't want to have to bite a shrimp in half.

Small shrimp just fall all over the damn place, and have too much breading to shrimp proportion.

+1 on Guy's on Magazine. Had one two weeks ago with beautiful shrimp...not huge and rubbery, but solid med/large with great flavor & not fried into oblivion.
