It had everything to do with your point being silly and irrelevant

But I'm not going to drag this fight on forever

Batman gets it

I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago and have kept it off with around 10% body fat. I eat very healthy and read more about nutrition than anything else, even sports.

what me and him are saying is a fact. its science

are we saying to go eat 1,800 calories of donuts and cookies, hell no. I eat TONs of fruits and veggies and lean meats to give me the micronutrients and energy I need to perform at a high level. I run 7-10 miles a day so I would feel like shite eating donuts and cookies all day.

go to bodybuilding.com and read up on if it fits in your macros. there are shredded guys on there with less than 10% body fat that hit their macro goals every day and still find room for foods they love, as long as it fits in their calories to maintain each day.

cutting carbs, keto, etc is a short term fix and nobody can go the rest of their life doing that. its all about balance and incorporating smart foods into your diet.

my best friend, my sister, my mom- all of them are constantly doing paleo, 21 day fasts, advocare, low carb, adkins. I try to tell them those are short term fixes, a healthy balanced lifestyle is the only answer. get up and move, exercise, keep your heart rate up and burning calories and eat smart 80% of the time and you will be successful. Carbs are not bad people.

Don't confuse nutrition and calories. They are two different things.

Read 'Eat Stop Eat'..

I did that program for 3 months. Enjoyed the book more than I did the "lifestyle." I agree 100% with the basic concepts especially the part about corporate America and their greedy pockets.

But I can have the exact same success eating 5-6 small meals a day which is what I enjoy. I love eating and even more I love eating good food. Fasting for 24 straight hours once or twice a week wasn't even that hard, it was just frankly boring me to death. I use my meals to help break up the monotony of work or other mundane tasks in life.

how is paleo a fad diet?

it's eating real, normal foods, and basically cutting out most processed shite.

last night i ate a delicious chuck roast, half of a sweet potato, and Domenica's roasted cauliflower recipe.

something obviously works for you if you are in great shape, but it's not the only way. Paleo is 100% sustainable. I dont understand how meat, veggies, fruit, etc is a fad. Because it's not working for your mom?

Interesting, but does not go against what I was saying. A calorie of fat and a calorie of carb is not a set value in the human body, hence the study I posted, which you probably didn't read and thought over. If they were they same, everyone would have lost the same amount of weight, correct?

So the guy lowered his overall caloric intake, and lost weight, yay, good for him! But that wasn't my point. My point is that a calorie of whatever is treated differently in the body be it a carb, protein, or fat, and used science to prove that point.

There are many ways to lose weight. Some easier than others. Insulin resistance is a key and is different person to person.

Not necessarily

But I'm pretty sure numerous scientific studies have shown that low carb diets are better for keeping weight off than low fat higher carb diets.

I do pretty low carb, it works for me. Do I swear things off completely? No. That's why I couldn't do paleo. I enjoy dairy too much for paleo and I like to splurge on peanut butter and jelly when I'm having a cheat meal if you will.

What's best idea and food to stick to? Ps I love sweets so that's the weakness

Go find some So Delicious No Sugar Added desserts. The chocolate ice milk is good and gives enough of a "real" ice cream experience for me.

Is Splenda OK? I'm still trying to acquire the taste for stevia.

splenda is fine in moderation

some people get the shits on artificial sweteners and some people say studies have shown to make people crave sugar more when you consume them

its basically triggering your brain in thinking that its about to get sugar, so when it doesn't it wants it now!

I read an article where it says if you are going to drink or eat artificial sweeteners, do so with food with carbs, therefore your brain and dopamine levels are good and its satisfied.

I recently started training at a boxing gym and eating sensible. I now feel like an idiot for all those years of diets and gym sessions. I used to think I was working out hard but I was sorely mistaken.

I don't even think of the word "diet" anymore. Truth is if I don't eat light and drink tons of water i won't make it through the workouts....so it's a win win.
