Yes they will. No need to argue because im right.

I'm not arguing that nutritional value isn't important but you're arguing that they won't lose the same amount of weight when in fact they will.

Again, what happens to the sugar and carbs in the fries, buns and soda? where do you think that goes?

You're not getting it and theirs no point staying up to argue with you. You're trying to argue body composition and confusing it with weight loss.

is fat not part of your body composition? so you're saying fat doesnt affect your body mass?

Well since fat weighs less than muscle it's possible that the fat eater would way less.

If you are talking purely about weight loss and caloric intake, not health, not how you look, not how you feel, not your energy, but just poundage, a calorie is a calorie.

It's not a fad diet at all. Actually pretty easy to maintain as a lifestyle. It's aa formidable as any other diet you could call "lifestyle" change

I've actually had tremendous success with the paleo diet in the past.

I'm doing sort of a hybrid between paleo/ketogenic right now. Well I'm doing ketogenic but I'm trying to incorporate some of the concepts from paleo.

Feeling great.

You will feel like shite and always hungry eating nothing but donuts but if you are under your maintenance you will lose weight

It's basic science

Sure, but to use this as a diet plan would be incredibly stupid.

Satiety has to be taken into account. People aren't going to overcome their primal urges to eat. Eating 500 calories of donuts won't leave you as satisfied as eating 500 calories of avocados or something else that has a good nutrient profile with some healthy fats.

People all the time do the Big Mac diet or Twinkie diet to prove that as long as you are under your calories you will lose weight

I'm not sure what real point it proves other than that you can have SHORT TERM success on a very stupid diet.

You're being intentionally obtuse

People who go on diets to lose weight do so with the intention of losing fat and improving their body composition

They're not doing it for the pure purpose of losing weight at the expense of muscle atrophy and fat gain in some sort of mathematical trade off

Everyone agrees, but that isn't the point.

That's for sure!

Lots of diets meet this. Atkins being a prime example. In the long tern, "diets" don't work period.

As many have said, a wholesale lifestyle change is the only thing that works.

Right. And some people make wholesale lifestyle changes to stay on "diets"

Over the last several years I've made it a point to eat grain products sparingly and it's made a huge difference

If you're going to make a real lifestyle change the composition of your calories is every bit as important as the quantity

You are the one bringing things into the discussion that have nothing to do with what I am saying.

Of course! Who said otherwise? You are creating some sort of argument with me when there is none.

I can, LINK thingy

Studies have shown this.

Go read any cook book about how scientists "fixed" diabetes in the early 1900s...here, let me show you.

There is very little insulin response to this kind of diet whereas eating donuts will spike insulin and cause a lot of things to go wrong.

For the record, fat weighs the same as muscle. What you meant was that muscle is more dense than fat.

My point is while that may be true it's also irrelevant since it's contrary to anyone's objectives on a diet. You're the one who brought up the silly idea.

I did paleo and enjoyed it. Now that I'm doing 90% whole food plant based diet, I enjoy meat a lot more. Only having it once a day is like a treat. And getting more fruits and vegtables in my diet has been great.

Remember it is whatever fits you and your lifetstyle. This allows me to eat really healthy while I'm at work and then eat a normal supper with lean meat and veggies with my wife and kids. So more veggies in the house means everyone is eating better which is great.
