Twisted Root has good burgers.

Marilyn's place is the best NOLA type food along I-20.

Franks has great pizza.

Since when? I find their whole set-up gimmicky based on the different meats, etc... The burgers are always dry/overcooked and overpriced. They do have a decent beer selection though.

Parish Taco

Had their Korean skirt steak tacos a few days ago and they were really good. Had some pork belly app that tasted great but probably shaved a year or two off of my life expectancy.

Some will try to say Indigo's over India's Restaurant for Indian food; do not listen.

I prefer India's over Indigo too. India's was really good when it was run by the (somewhat) elderly couple.

Although not technically in Shreveport, Lucky Palace in Bossier is pretty good Chinese with a lot of items not found on standard Chinese menus.

As the above poster mentioned, Ki Mexico is a must if you like Mexican that isn't Tex Mex.

I live in Shreveport and I've never heard of it. Where is it located?

Here's the thing with India's vs. Indigo. I can admit some inherent bias, because I've been absolutely crushing their lunch buffet ever since the original owners were there 6 or 7 years ago. But they won my loyalty for a reason. I think I've been to Indigo's 3 times vs literally 75-100 trips to India's. And when India's was changing owners I had a few bad meals there, but Indigo's holds the distinction of the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life.

Me and an ex. I get the CTM, she gets some shrimp dish that is supposed to have a sauce, sides, you know, stuff other than shrimp. We're the only customers. Twenty minutes to take our drink orders. I'd have been gone in ten, but the ex was dead set on eating here. After nearly an hour of Indian rave music (!) and a prepubescent Indian child belly dancing around the dining area (?) we receive very average, way-too-tomatoey CTM and, I shite you not, a plate with 4 jumbo shrimp on it. Only. We complain, they "fix" her shrimp but still no sides. At this point we just try to get it to go, so she pays with her card. They "forgot" to give her her card back. Had to ask to get it, we leave bewildered.

TLDR: my first time at Indigo's would've made Gordon Ramsey have a stroke. Have only been back for the buffet when coerced by friends but India's buffet puts it to shame. Nod: India's.

It's NEAR where the old El Chico's in Madison Square was. It is located in the former Martinez Mexican restaurant location behind the Johnny's Pizza near the corner of Gilbert Drive and Gregg Ave.

Old article prior to their opening

Their food is not Tex Mex. They don't have chips and salsa at the table. Everything I've had there has been good.

I think they do Sunday lunch specials. They are only open for lunch on Sunday, though.

Driven by this place a thousand times and I keep forgetting about it. I have heard nothing but good things about the BBQ.

Salmon sort of nailed it, "serviceable" is a good word. Shreveport doesn't have great BBQ, or maybe some little 'hood diamond in the rough type spot might, but I've never found any. Hickory Stick's certainly worth a try though, just stay far away from their brisket. Their half a chicken plate is clutch.. Awesome skin, meat falls off the bone, less than $10. They also have some pretty solid ribs.

I've recently had Ki Mexico and wasn't all that impressed. It was average at best, for my money I prefer Taqueria Sin Frontera in haughton. Best tacos I've ever had.
