I'm looking for an Islay or otherwise peaty scotch for under 100. Won my fantasy football league and am thinking about treating myself, but I'm not very familiar with non-Higland varieties.

As an aside, I was gifted some Laphroaig 10 for christmas.

Any suggestions? TIA

Laphroaig is one of my favorites. Can't go wrong there.

Not an Islay. It's a Speyside. Oban is also not an Islay, it's a highland

If you can find the distillers edition of this one I like it more than the regular 16. The lap 10 I have I can not stand tho

Lagavulin is the best Islay out there honestly for the money. An Ardbeg or a Bunnahabhain (sp?) would be my other go to scotches from there.

Thanks for the input. I went for the Lagavulin 16. Thought about taking a jump up in price to the 120 range, but I'm not completely convinced all members in my fantasy league are going to pay up.

Welching bastards.

Good decision; that and the Oban are my two current favorites at the house.

Very simple solution. Make a rule that you can not draft a team until you pay first. No exceptions. Nothing worse than welching bastards in a fantasy league.

Agreed. This was the first year doing a family league and it came together last minute. Will definately be paying first next year.
