my son works at sams and so the whole family has a free membership.
new tires for sequoia and i was out the door for under $500.
they offer headlight polish service for yellowed/hazed headlights $29 and 5 year guarantee against them re-yellowing (free repolish) and the results are WAY better than i could achieve with the buffing/sanding kits on my own. takes them about 45 minutes to do this.
members mark paper towels, tp, napkins and other products are legit quality and way less than national brands.
TN wont let grocery stores sell booze so i have no comment about alcohol
sams has gas for 1.96 while the exxon and shell across the street are still at 2.39 (shame on them)
i agree lines are longer at sams and my son can tell you horror stories about the knowledge or lack thereof but it works for us.
i routinely get samsclub offers from amex that are great..but odd considering sams doesnt accept amex as a payment type
i had a costco membership a few years back but i mainly bought it due to a flat screen tv deal.

Right...so same quality you'd get there.

not even close.
sams carries lot of commercial products for use in businesses.
its not the same consumer grade crap as walmart.
like i said, members-mark products are quality and not remotely cheap.
they're very comparable to costco products of the same type.

Costco has better seasonal stuff around the holidays

Costco by a large margin. Many of the Kirkland Signature items rate as high or higher than the national brand. The Kirkland Signature rum is legit and a steal for less than $15 for a handle. The liquid detergent tested higher than all competitors. If that isn't enough, Costco carries prime beef. $3.29 per lb for prime brisket is hard to beat. I have both cards as I live less than a mile from Sam's but we go across town to Costco far more often.

I've been going to Sam's for many years. From the first time at Costco I have never darkened the door of Sam's again.
The employees at Costco are well paid and it shows (I heard most employees make min of $40k) the store brands are amazing, the return policy is ridiculously liberal.
