So...you want to take the best items off the menu, and then say its not far off from a mediocre chain.
And to call Baton Rouge a black hole makes me realize how much you don't know
quote:Lafayette is not an outstanding restaurant city. It does a few things very well but it is lacking in variety and higher end dining. Ruffino's will be a valuable addition there.
New Orleans and Lafayette are both outstanding.
quote:The idea that Lafayette doesn't enthusiastically support a lot of mediocre restaurants is laughable.
To me, it's a tougher crown an hour east or west on I-10.
quote:Prepare to be called moronic.
If I'm going to Ruffino's it's not for Italian dishes.
maybe a pizza and a glass of wine or maybe I blow it out with three or four bottles and the dry aged ribeye. Plenty of ways and price points to enjoy it. Take your pick. It's a great atmosphere and they run a good shop. I hope Lafayette will support it.
Lafayette is a really good food city
The point is expectations. Ruffinos can stand out in the BR scene because of what it lacks as a city. To me, it's a tougher crown an hour east or west on I-10.
Sure. But your need to constantly compare it to BRs food scene is irrelevant and unnecessary for most threads you interject it in to.
