Staying at the Willard across from the White House. Looking for some good lunch and dinner spots in that general area.

We will catch an uber on some nights so not everything needs to be in that area.

We stayed at the Willard last Feb. It is a great hotel in the perfect location, right across from the side of the White House. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance. The Old Ebbit Grill, a block behind the hotel, is the oldest restaurant in town. It is an historic place with very good food and a fun atmosphere. Go early and have a drink at the oldest bar in town. The bar at your hotel is the 2nd oldest. Zaytina for Mediterranean food and Raisaka for Indian food are highly recommended. Both are a short walk away. Tosca is an upscale Italian restaurant a couple of blocks away on the street that runs along the back of the hotel. Central, a couple of blocks down Penn. Ave. is very good. The Blue Duck Tavern was one of our favorites. It is a short cab ride away. All the others you can walk to. For a quick, casual breakfast or lunch, go to the café in the Press Club building across the street.

I was at Old Ebbitt Grill in February and they have their own oyster menu. Great selection from around the country and very close to the WH.
