Any ideas from the FDB.

I feel locked into Antoines and Commanders isn't big enough. I would prefer commanders but it's not feasible.

TIA

do a reception
Sit down for 100 is a nightmare
the food will be better at a reception and it will be more fun

mine was at the Napoleon house upstairs and it was awesome. Ten years later people still talk about it

I'm guessing half the family is from up north or something. No need to do a full sitdown meal for that many people. If you do it, just go to a hotel ballroom.

If you are open for reception style set up, lots more places come into play.
Where is your rehearsal and where are most of your peeps staying?

Arnaud's knocks these kind of events out the park. Antoine's is terrible.

Rehearsal is uptown. Everything is uptown I guess. I have family coming from all across I-10 and Mississippi.

I would like it to be uptown but am open to this reception idea.

Wonderful responses and great link so far. Thanks!!

100 for a rehearsal dinner? Isn't a rehearsal dinner only supposed to be for close family and the wedding party? what the hell?

Had mine at Arnaud's in the Gold Room. They have about 3 or 4 other options there also, some with balcony access. Only complaint I have about the room we chose was the size of the bar.

Jesus. How much is this going to set you back? I cant even fathom the bill that comes with sit down service in a nice restaurant for a party of 100.

We are doing Bourbon House in a month for our rehearsal dinner. Max is 80. Its hard to find a place for a large rehearsal dinner group.

I'm really curious to hear back from Commander's Palace...that would be ideal with it being uptown, but I dont know if they can seat 90+ comfortably and what the price would be.

Calcasieu may be a good option too because it may cost less, have quality food (Cochon) and be more comfortable to seat 100

commanders is going to be every bit of 100/pp
if you're not OK with that don't even bother
10Gs is a lot to drop on dinner
you could could have an epic party for that kind of coin

Yeah, for that many people I would start looking at some of the reception places.
