The wife and I are headed to Asheville on Thursday for some wedding festivities. She is an integral part of the wedding so I am flying solo most of Friday and Saturday pre rehearsal dinner and wedding. We are coming home on Tuesday, so Sunday and Monday are free. I have made reservations for The Admiral on Monday evening but have no real other plans that breweries and bars. We were thinking of driving down to Brevard on Sunday to take a drive through the Pisgah Forest, so anything there would be beneficial.

Any suggestions from the FDB ?

French Broad Chocolate Lounge... panty dropper.

Wicked Weed, of course.

Hi-Wire was probably my second favorite brewery, especially as far as just hanging out went.

The Admiral is awesome! Also try Curate. Great spot for solo dining at the bar.

Rhubarb is a new place I've been hearing great things about. Haven't been yet.

I tried but the only real option for the 2 of us is Sunday at lunch, which would be the day we are looking to get out into the mountains. I may swing in on Friday or Saturday if I am not holed up at breweries for lunchtime.

I'll still be posted up at Wicked Weed on Thursday. Come buy me some beers.

I should probably revise this a little after my last visit to reflect some newer things/changes, but it still serves as a decent guide for starters.

Curate is underwhelming as shite. Really disappointed me. We both wanted better. The cheeks at 7 Sows Bourbon and Larder were fantastic, however.

For us too.

We loved Wicked Weed and I don't drink beer.
Don't go to French Broad Chocolates after dinner on a Friday or Saturday. The line was down the street.

We ate at Cucina 24 and Limones. They were both great.

I chose these 2 from the website I found titled A Spicy Perspective. Where To Eat In Asheville. It really highlights the best restaurants in Asheville and great pictures.
Run to this site.

The Beard nomination had us excited. We did about 10 small plates amd felt they were all just uninspired. There are other downtown options that are better.

I will be there this weekend too. Be advised that Asheville Oktoberfest is this Saturday from 1-6.

ETA: Thanks to the poster that recommended the Spicy Perspective web site. Very informative.

I saw that Oktoberfest was Saturday. Will probably skip it though and hope that breweries are less crowded due to the event. Also going to a beer festival before a wedding is probably a bad idea.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Bump for upcoming trip. Will be staying at the Sheraton Four Points, any good restaurants - breweries within staggering distance?

I posted a decent little beer snapshot earlier. The next "nicer" places I'll try there are Table and Rhubarb (two different places, not a joined name). The girlfriend says they get some local hype, which excites me. A more casual location we will try in a few weeks is Pizza Pura.

Worth mentioning, my last visit to Green Man was excellent.

Sent this to my friend after our trip. Hope it helps:

Storm Rhum Bar & Bistro - Was really cool, we had a drink here, but the food looked good
Bouchon French Bistro - Definately go here one night, get a Croque Monseur sandwich, it was badass
Laughing Seed Cafe - Vegan/Vegetarian place I was told me about, they had a good grilled cheese
The Bier Garden - Enough said
Vincenzos - Some of the best italian you'll ever eat. They have a piano bar too, but not like Pat Os
Mountain Deli - This was in Hendersonville, it was good eats, but only if you are there.
Limones - Interesting Mexican food, but it was like with a hip vibe. I had some kind of Habenero margarita that was pretty good
Carmel's Reatuarant - Ate there for brunch, it was pretty good. It is in the oldest 'mall' in america or something
