Seriously? I was joking around. I know nothing about macros.

BUT, it would seem that you can eat SOME of what people give up on a "diet," but you will still have to give up good things.

There is no such thing as eating anything you want and in large amounts and losing weight. I don't know that, but I know that.

No bread and no sweeter or cream in my coffee has been the hardest part...but I will persevere. Just had bacon and eggs and black coffee for breakfast with a big glass of water

who said you couldn't do that? Put a half tbsp of heavy cream in there and a squirt of liquid stevia or a truvia packet.

Only time I drink black coffee is when I'm trying to remain fasted for a while.

I was basically screwing around with that response...but you're right. I still have to give up things I enjoy a lot, pasta for instance, but that's okay. There are other options and plenty of other great foods that I can eat filled with wonderful tasty fat

That's why I like WW. I have not given up a single thing. Literally not one.

I have given up having the things I want as often though.

And my volume is way down.

Not a plug for WW. Whatever works is what is best. That has just worked best for me.

I don't have no heavy cream. My wife buys that nestle creamer or whatever brand. We have Splenda packs at home. Never seen the stevia.

Actually if the coffee is a strong it's really not bad. I think 2-3 days in and I'll be used to it.

get some. and get some unsweetened almond milk.

if you ever need a protein shake to hit the macros for the GAINZ then do this:

1 scoop chocolate protein powder
8 oz unsweetened almond milk (regular or vanilla)
1/2 tbsp heavy cream
1 tbsp PB-Fit or PB2

I'm a big advocate of whatever works for you...The first year of my weight loss was done with Nutrisystem. In all honesty, one of the biggest reasons I do keto now is because I don't eat things I typically binge on (pasta/sugar etc).

That's good. My problem with pasta is that I don't want a little bit. I want a lot. So I now usually make spaghetti squash to satisfy the craving.

I do WW because it is so simple. It takes discipline like anything else, but I don't have to figure things out, so it suits me.

Heck, I don't even know what macros are.

Yep, the whole not having to cook and having food sent to my door to make it idiot proof is why I did nutrisystem.

Macros are your Fats/Carbs/Protein.

And each person has different needs for these under the system you are doing?

On a separate note, ever heard of the eating for your blood type deal?

Tomorrow is official weigh-in day

I used to do Mondays, but that could be very volatile depending on how the weekend went. Fridays are great.. I've had the entire work week to get down to a new low.

I'm still really enjoying my diet.. I don't feel like I've really given anything up, except sweets...which I never was a huge sweets eater anyway. No added sugar.. there's added sugar in everything, but when you cook at home you can prevent that and make cheap, delicious food. No avoiding carbs or fats or w/e.. I just try to keep my nutrient ratio to about 40% protein 30% carb 30% fat. It's been super easy and fulfilling.

right..so on keto my goal is typically 20-25 carbs which is roughly 5% of my calories from carbs. protein is around 150g making up 25-30% of my calories leaving fats to make up the difference at 65-70% of my calories.

How do you know what it is supposed to be?

protein is the most important macro, and should be targeted based on your lean body mass. the carbs/fat is totally different depending on what type of diet/lifestyle you try to follow.

When people want to lose weight, they usually mean they want to lose fat, unless they trying to some magic number to win a contest or bet.

Person A: 240 lbs: loses 40lbs to get to 200lbs. 20lbs of it fat, 20lbs of it is lean body mass (muscle)

Person B: 240 lbs: loses 30 lbs to get to 210lbs. 20lbs of it fat, 10 lbs lean body mass.

I'd much rather be Person B, even though 10lbs heavier

All diets based around creating a calorie/energy deficit for your body. The idea is to retain as much lean body mass during the cut/diet.

This could be debated, but I think the bare minimum number to shoot for while running a calorie deficit is 0.8 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass. For example, 200 lb person, 20% body fat; that means that person has 160g of lean body mass. Therefore, I'd target ~128g of protein daily.

I made it through Mardi Gras by not gaining a pound.
Superbowl was easy. I didn't go anywhere.

Next goal is 230 by end of month. I would like to be below 230 before my trip around March 13th.
