Buying a new burner. I need a multi-tasker. Debating between a Bayou Classic double jet (the SP-2 or SP-40) or a Bayou Classic Banjo Burner (the KAB4 or the KAB6) ... I'm gonna use this burner with my 80 and 120 qt. boiling pots, but i'm also gonna do some cast iron get down with it ... that's why i'm leaning towards the banjo.

Have any of you boiled with a big pot using a banjo burner? What kind of turnaround time did you have?

I attempted to this weekend. After about 45 minutes I put my hand in the water and it was maybe a little warmer than when it first went in the pot

ETA: It was cast iron, not banjo

You're gonna need 2 burners man. Those banjo burners will take forever to bring a 120 qt pot to a simmer

I've got one of these banjo burners that I'm very happy with. I use it mostly for homebrewing, but have no problems boiling crawfish with it. I'll do a sack with all the fixins in a 120 qt pot with no issues. It's great to be able to hear yourself and not have to yell over the sound of the double jet burner.

That is what I'm looking for. What model is that?

32 jet natural gas is what I use to boil seafood.

Here's the outlet on my patio 3/4" hose.

I'd have to look to be sure, but it's a Bayou Classic. Works really well for me. Sometimes I have to check to make sure it's on, because it's so quiet.

I have that same burner, will it bring my 120 qt pot to a boil as fast as my single jet burner? If so that would be great, its a whole lot more quiet than my single jet.

I haven't done a side by side. I've got a double jet, but I never use it because it's so damn loud and burns through propane so fast.

I'm at that age where background noises really interfere with my hearing. My buddy has a twin-jet and I can't hear sh*t while it's on. His birthday is next week and I'd like to get him something quieter.
