Lots of things to do? shite, am I reading this correctly that you'll only be there 24 hours?

I was thinking the same thing.

OP, what meals are you looking for while there? Cost? Dress? Location?

Based on the responses this was obviously posted on the OT first.

Abort thread

If you like beer, hit up NOLA tap room.
If you like food, can hit up Pesche or Domenica. Two of my favorites.

It was a joke, one that it appears people didn't appreciate. Sorry guys. "Places to eat and things to do in New Orleans" is one of the more loaded questions you can ask a person, and I felt like making light of it.

If OP would ever come back with some details we could give him real recommendations. Right now it's a little vague.

Exactly. How old someone is, their marital and kid situation, what kind of food they like, if they like to drink, if they like loud bars, bars with music, dirty old bars, fancy restaurants, holes in the wall, etc. etc. will all influence recommendations. New Orleans has a poison for every walk of life.

If it's pussy he wants, he needs to take his arse uptown and go to Columns and/or Delachaise. He can then hop on a streetcar, get off at Milan and BAM there's New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood. Game over.

World War II museum. Talk to the vets in the lobby and watch the movie.

Then go out to bourbon street.

I'm looking to get pussy!

I'd prefer to do things in the area that we're staying in. This is her first time visiting New Orleans (she's from Ohio) and I want to avoid bourbon.

I know that I can't do much in 24 hours

I'm going to ignore your goal in the first sentence. Aside from that, look at some of the questions posters asked you and answer those. Then, you'll get some legitimate help.

Some of us did.

The insipid, detail-free original question warranted a pointedly shallow answer.

Well done.

Um. Take her to Bourbon. She's never been to nola and Bourbon will undoubtedly drop her morals as well as intoxicate her to the point where she'll frick anything.

OP, the NOLA convention people have spent large $$$ studying what people want/expect/like about New Orleans on their first, second, third, etc. visit.

Results were clear: first visit has to be the French Quarter. Anywhere else will not be understood.

Second visit has to be streetcar / CBD / uptown. Only on the third visit do you let them wander.

Just reporting the facts. Swamp tour was tops for the third visit, by the way.
