frick those dudes. Id be so pissed if i wouldve paid for the bullshite event they put on today. $30 for a t-shirt and some city pork basically. All beers were ala cart, but there was about half hour line for the bullshite "special beers" they had on tap. There is zero reason for me to ever step foot in there again.

Thankfully cbd is next door and my evening was salvaged with good beers and good friends.

I actually just asked a poster if he went to this and he said he didn't go, but y'all had a horrible time. I saw the Instagram photos of painted naked women... LOLZ

I watched an old man video the chick and then stuck his hand in his pocket and started to go to town. Awkward.

I haven't been to Pelican House in forever and really can't think of any reason to go back. And seriously WTF was the deal with the body painting?!?

Nope. $30 for a t-shirt, thankfully i had the hook up. Otherwise i wouldve broken shite.

It was funny listening to people after they made their way to cbd and share their experiences of shittiness.

You know, I really want to like Pelican. As I've said before, the owners/management are seriously some of the nicest people I know. But man. I just don't get the place. They definitely don't appeal to beer people, so they'd almost do better ripping the 900 taps out and offering your basics.

And I do not for the life of me understand why they charge cover for everything. $30 to stand in line and pay for beer that most bars were able to get this week too?

ETA: Meanwhile, I had KBS 14, KBS 15, BCBS, and Bomb! as well has a huge plate of buffalo wings for $25.

They like faux beer people that want to seem like they know and like beer while downing their blue moon seasonal

Ryno and corksoaker would love that place

Did the $30 ticket get you some free pours or drinks tickets?

Random question...Does The Cove still enforce the no t-shirt rule?

You were free to pour some BBQ sauce on your pulled pork. That's it.

Speaking of pulling pork, rutiger has a funny story about that.

I don't know the answer to this question, but I think it was just no plain white Hanes type tee.

Service industry congregates there. Plenty of them are in tees.

Craft beer drinkers are funnier than BMC drinkers.

Wow. There should have at least been two options to go through the door. A free option where you can just buy beer and then the $30 option for all this stuff below.

quote:

2015 event t-shirt (must purchase ticket before Thursday, 5/14 to receive shirt!)
Couchon de lait sandwich bar and charcuterie table by City Pork
Schwag bag with items from each brewery
Chance to win door prizes provided by breweries

If I'm going to a beer event, I dont want to be force charged for food and a t-shirt.

I went and totally thought the beers were free. Some shady shite they pulled. We still had a good time, but it definitely reminded me why I don't go there often.

I was thinking about this during my previous post. How many went and paid thinking the $30 came with some beers?
