Wow. My wife brought this up today, because I thought tickets were crazy expensive. We passed by Pelican House and saw the huge line into the parking lot. We ended up going to Corporate Brew and Draft and everyone in there was griping about Pelican House

All 6 other people I were with were shocked when we had to pay for beer. I won't be going back for along time. CBD is such a much better place.

You guys handled the crowd very adeptly. Thanks for the good pours-had a great time, even without the special stuff out of the back.

Sometimes those beer events are a ripoff. Cascade had a Sour and Wild event that had some pretty good beers, but every single one of them was $8 for an 8 oz pour. I'd do that for Beatification, but most of the beers weren't in that class.

UT got a beer by The Commons there, and then we walked down the street to The Commons brewery and the same beer was 4 bucks for a 12 oz. pour.

There are some events that charge you to get in, but you get a glass and some drink tickets. Those may or may not be a good deal.

Wow. $30 and you still Had to shell out extra for beers. You at least should have gotten some special pours or something. I was at CBD around 6 and the place was starting to fill up. Nothing but goodthings to say about CBD. Chick from cuban was bartending.

I think she is so cool.

Watched a dude just going to town hitting on her and pulling her away from customers all night one time, and she handled it with way more grace than I would have.

And PH charged tax on top of the beers. So that $10 pint of Ghost was really $10.90.

Reinforces exactly why I haven't set foot in that place since October. This was no doubt the last time I will ever set foot in there.

Yep, not only did the beer cost to my shock, it was expensive as shite. I'll never go there again in my life.

Looks like Pelican House has one of their employees downvoting every post here. Way to go, guys.

This has to be a joke I'm not getting.

I went to the Avenue Pub today and got 10 of their sample 4 oz pours today of some good shite for $30.

Yea they should have given you the option to enter the door and just purchase beer. Just give separate wristbands for people that want food and the other stuff. Live and learn hopefully.

That's the problem. This isn't the first time they've pissed a bunch of beer people off with their stupidity. I've got a bar credit from some stupid Twitter drawing and I haven't even used gone in to use it because I just don't care for the place.

I thought you were pimping this event for them.

I did, and it will be the last time. Gave them one more shot, and it was an epic fail on their part. But I guess they got the last laugh, because they convinced a bunch of people to pay a $30 cover charge for a lame arse t-shirt, while having to shell out even more money to drink beers. Never again. And I'm gonna call them out on it.

It'll be loud and clear. But not tonight, because I'm tired.
