Regarding the best brewery, Parish is I think by far the best. NOLA 2nd,

Yeah. Parish, definitely, is by far #1. NOLA can't get their shite together with packaging their beer. Every beer i've had of theirs is pretty damn tasty on tap. Once it hit cans, it falls off considerably. Hopitoulas and Mechahopzilla are prime examples, and so is ICS. Not sure what they are doing, but something is going wrong at the canning department.

Parish Brewing quote: I just started keeping track this year with untapped. So far I've checked into 49 different beers this year and I know I forgot to log a few. Of the 49 different beers 18 of them were NOLA beers I just started in October and currently have 364 distinct beers.

Im sitting at 800, and thats in the last 14 months.

Damn, UT. That's some real work. I started last February and am up to 284, but I effectively didn't use it from February to about June/July.

I'd like to be somewhere around 450-500 by 2015. I'd call that a good year.

I have never had a problem with their packaged beer but I drink mostly the blonde, brown, and ICS. Have never had a problem with it and I drink a few of them every week.

I've seen other people saying the same thing on here. What could possibly make their cans taste different than their draft? It's the same beer going into the cans. Just trying to figure out the process to see how that could happen. If anyone has any brew type knowledge.

I can understand the IPA's taste changing if it isn't fresh and not selling maybe.

At this point being the best brewery in Louisiana really isn't saying much. None of the breweries in Louisiana would be in the top 5 in Texas or Florida.

I completely agree with this... I really like Mechahopzilla on tap, but in the can it's down right awful. I've just quit buying their cans all together.

I was trying to hit 1000 in year one, but didn't quite make it. I'm sitting at 999 now, so it's time to dig into the cellar and find something good.

Nice! I thought you already had #1000 picked out?

yeah, #1000 is picked out, but I have a bunch of other stuff I've been sitting on that I want to drink. This may be a good time to break those out.

1000 in a year?

20 different beers a week.

I hope y'all don't end up in AA or Biggest Loser.

I think it has to do with the way it's distributed. We get the stuff with little to no handle at all by a distributor. I only get my cans from the brewery and like you I have never had any issues. But I do know they exist. And those hops aren't getting any fresher.

:kige:

It theoretically should not make a difference. But firsthand experience with it tells me there is a difference. Maybe they should stop dry hopping ICS with aluminum foil before canning it.

Where do you live ? Unfortunately I have access to all the same beers you do. I'll get you something but it more than likely won't be anything special.

I agree. Its gotta be something in the distribution process. I noticed it from the first time I tried mecha at ave pub compared to the brewery.
