Such a shame. Hope they have good insurance and can rebuild there or elsewhere.

What's 2Johns like?

2Johns is great. Would highly reccomend to anyone in town. One of the best places we have in Shreveport imo.

Mine, too. The owner is kind of a strange guy, but the food and service is top notch.

When I lived in Shreveport I really loved going to Bistro. Then I moved over the river to Bossier and found L'Italiano.

It's alright. I prefer Texas St. Tavern for a steak in SBC.

I have had some great food at Texas St. Tavern but I like the atmosphere at 2johns more.

Quick story on Tx St. Tavern. After BP spill in gulf, we went for wifes b'day and ordered oysters. They informed us that they we serving pacific oysters due to spill. We agreed that was fine. When they got the the table I ate one and realized they were bad. Real fishy and couldn't finish it. Not sure if anyone has had these pacific oysters but i won't order them again from anywhere. One reason I may favor 2johns.

I haven't eaten at The Cub since last Christmas .. not sure if he was there then but my last 2 experiences there actually were very disappointing as far as the steaks go. They were significantly smaller than I'm used to getting there and the quality of the meat wasn't up to snuff as usual either. Potatoes were still on point .. wine list was shite that night though and as I said, steaks were quite disappointing.

Yeah they should have just gone ahead and 86's oysters from the menu until they could get gulf oysters again. I wouldn't trust a random steak house in Bossier City, LA to do well with serving Pacific coast oysters.

That being said, they shouldn't have served them to y'all in that state.

LSURoss, When is Great Raft going on sale to the public. My dad invested a small amount of $ in it and I am interested in testing it out.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with them, just a fan.

I believe they will be ready in November. The best bet would be to hit them up on Facebook or twitter. They are pretty active.

Awesome! Can't wait to kick back with some locally brewed stuff. Be great to have Great Raft and Red River Brewing going together in the SBC!
