There are still people that go there to drink beer and not give two shits about the game.

I think the sports bar is generally assumed that if you go there, you have interest in sports. Just my opinion.

The line between the two is probably very fine.

I am pretty much the same.

The only difference I can discern is that their is sports memorabilia everywhere.

Like how Finn McCool's gets for soccer games.

Bingo. When I think of a designated 'sports bar,' I think of some shithole on Vets, unless it caters to a specific niche like a soccer bar

I always took it as somewhere that you could buy pitchers so you didn't need to hear from a waitress.

At least that is what I always experience at WalkOns and they are the best sports bar in the world.

I really liked On Tap in Birmingham. That's the kind of Sports Bar I'm talking about (if anyone has ever been)

BTW, has anyone been to the new sports bar in the quarter they advertise on 990 am all the time?

exactly like i could see some dude bitching that the music wasn't loud enough or that they had the volume up on the tv for the game instead of letting the music play.

at a sports bar, its understood that, the tv sound if a game is on will always take precedence

I think of a "sports bar" as somewhere I can go watch a big game and they'll have every tv in the place on that game, and more importantly they'll have the sound playing from the game and not some shitty jukebox or cover band instead.

Cooter Brown's is a great "sports bar.

It's a good bar with a lot of TVs, but the layout is terrible.

Bruno's is decent.

meh. Again good bar, but TVs are too high behind the bar and sparse otherwise.

DAMN. Who knew that @bww_metairie had the lock on craft beer in the burbs. 50 frickin taps plus bottles.

but seriously. Great dudes who own and run it who really care about craft beer. Stuff you wouldn't expect they have.

So if anyone opens a TexMex/Thai/Indian/Italian Fusion Sports Bar with 120 beers on tap, they will be rich.

Jägerhaus. Let it be written on my list. Let it be done. I now have a new reason to live. If it's not worth the trip from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, I will find you, Winkface.

Yea i don't know what Wise meant by that, or if it was sarcasm. I can think of a few italian places i would go to off the top of my head that are great.

Vincents
Irene's
Venezia's
Giovanni
Domenica
Tommy's
Ancora
Mosca's

The italian scene is fine.

I was trying to think of things we really don't have AT ALL.
