La Petite

I love La Petite and my wife and I go to celebrate special occasions.

Like Gris Gris said, it really depends what two people want. For some, La Petite, Coquette, Domenica, Peche, and Shaya have different atmospheres that than Gris Gris's suggestions. All will hit the mark on food and be great options for most people. If considering steakhouses, consider also Mr. John's for something nicer, La Boca for something more nontraditional, and Crescent City Steakhouse for a more old school place.

Have you eaten there yet? I haven't seen much on it other than about the difficulties in getting a reservation.

Yes. I went in early July. We had Crab Remick, grouper, and a filet with crab, chanterelles, and a bordelaise. It was outstanding.

Thanks so much. I wish others would also report if they've eaten there. I'm looking forward to eating there at some point in the future!

GW Fins was great for an anniversary a couple years back. Great food plus they kick it up a notch with a few special surprises for special events if you tell them ahead of time.

We love Mr. B's but I wanted to surprise her with something different.

Have you ever been to MiLa? It's a little place downtown that's awesome. I think they serve the best duck in the city.

Had a really excellent meal for an anniversary at Brennan's last month. Great food and top notch service in a lovely setting.
