Just heard on Fitzmorris' food show. The owner, Joe Sagreto has retired.

Yep, heard it earlier today. His daughter made the announcement.

Just confirmed....
That's fine. Solid location that would be perfect for an up and coming chef like the guy at Kin!!!!!
Someone call him up!!

Calliope and Annunciation. Basically under the riverbound expressway.

1179 Annunciation. It was an ole timer joint that could put out a decent veal dish, but not much else.
The owner's daughter was.

Figured this would happen sooner or later. The New Orleans food scene has long surpassed their abilities.

Terrible name. Why not 1179 or Eleven Seventy Nine ?
Does the place have chairs ? If so they should have called it Chair. Or if they wanted to be fancy they could have used the French word for Chair.

They kind of mailed it in when they came up with the name.

I heard Dominique Macquet will be moving into that space when his current place closes right after it opens.

Wow, that is pretty surprising. It was always packed when I went. Surely they tried to sell the brand?

How long were they there? Was this restaurant open pre Katrina?
