Will be interesting to see how this affects the menu/food. This seems like a move in the right direction for Ruffino's

Good for Ruffinos. Wonder who will take the reigns at Houmas House. Would be a shame to see that place decline.

Said the same thing this morning. Ruffino's needs it, and hopefully Houmas House will continue to be great.

Jeremy’s style is very much akin to the ‘Creole Meets Italian’ cuisine we have created at Ruffino’s,

I have gotten to know Jeremy over the last few years. He is a stand up, quality dude. I know his talents will benefit Ruffino's. I got to speak with him in the turle bar about a week ago. He said the staff at Houmas House is amazing and he doesn't see anything changing there. He seemed real excited for the new things he will be getting to do.

Hmmm, I like his work at Latil's.

Shouldn't be too hard for him to improve on what they have been doing at Ruffino's.

Might give Ruffino's another try in a few months.

I went a couple times this past year, but both times were MEH. He is a welcome addition!

I agree but meh is your one opinion and obviously the masses of BR and Lafayette disagree or they wouldn't pack the place night after night. Believe me, my family is in the biz and are extremely jealous of their success

Sorry to hear that Lady, love and read your posts often. My mom actually had a similar experience in April, go figure. I'd love to treat you to a better experience if you'd allow me to. My cell is in my history so just text me if you can.

Don't be silly I ordered outside of my "typical" LL type of order, and was underwhelmed with those choices. Next time, I'll stick with what I know I love and what Ruffino's executes excellently .. fish, pasta, crab cheesecake, cheeks..

Ruffino's is a place for Highland Road residents to be seen at. Better italian at Nino's, better overall food at French Market Bistro.

Ruffino's can hold its own as a good restaurant though. Hopefully Jeremy can improve on what they have going, but the environment will have to change before I throw 150 towards a chef's tasting menu.

Actually, I share LL's opinion (and one of the subpar visits), and I've been going there since it was named after a lousy football coach. It hasn't been as good as at times in the past-food or service. Jeremy was doing some really good things at Houmas House, and should help them turn things back around. Given that my perception of their downturn started around the time the Lafayette location opened, maybe the staff has been distracted?

Katie, if you measure quality by how full the parking lot is, Sammy's must be the top restaurant in Baton Rouge.

They do steaks very well. Wish I could get the 45 Day Dry Aged Ribeye more often.

Hey Ruff--how many people do I need for you to send the Benz van out to Steele Place/Webb park? Looking forward to Jeremy joining your team.

They don't serve it at all anymore, unfortunately.
