You are correct. The McDonald is named after one of their owners, and the Savell burger is named after the other They actually have the majority of their menu named after the friends and family who helped them get started.

The McDonald has bacon, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, and ranch dressing. They claim it on their menu as their best burger, and I have to agree! I find myself craving this burger, and Mugshots is a must-do on my list of visits to Tuscaloosa.

Anyone know if the BR location will be open til 2?

I heard that this one won't be a late night music venue like the others. The others are open til 2am, but stop serving food at 10:00pm regardless. They usually do an acoustic act or let an ipod play during the weeks and have bands on friday and saturday, which usually starts at 10 and ends at 2.

Again, I'm not positive. I'd suggest going in and checking it out.

I didn't catch the hours .. Others are saying food till 10 .. bar till 2AM .. I'd imagine they'll feel this market out .. my first impression is that food was pretty good .. but it seems like the concept and the building don't match ... It's very simple .. burgers and sandwiches mainly .. right next to five guys .. they'll have to sell a shite ton of burgers and booze to satisfy that nut over there ...

i'm pulling for them .. but they've only been in business since 2004 and have already expanded to 6 locations in 6 years ? looks like the college town circuit has been good for them .. but, despite what everyone claims .. BR is not an exclusive college town ... seems like this location is just much much bigger physically than all of their others ...

the place reminds me of an old place we had on my side of town called "the end zone" ... it really is an oversized end zone to me ...

Ouch...that's not good if it is. I'd be shocked to see them make it there. They would have to do some serious bar business. They won't cut it selling a bunch of $8 burgers IMO.

Pint? It's $3.50 in the Hattiesburg location.

They will implement some happy hour specials, im guessing. They usually do $1 domestic draught, $5 burgers for students, different stuff like that.

yeah .. a pint .. and they had happy hour cards all over the bar .. i didn't really read them ... i like the concept .. just wondering if it is going to work with that location and overhead .. it would be money a little closer to LSU ..

Like you said, the other locations are small college towns except for Biloxi. And all of the bars aren't really too big either, except Biloxi.

I imagine they are going to try and model the BR one after the Biloxi store. It's more of a restaurant type than bar.

Everyone says the rent is expensive in BR, but can anyone confirm this?

yes .. commercial real estate is stupid high over here .. real estate in general is stupid high over here ... if you ride around BR right now, there are "for lease" real estate signs up in commercial spots everywhere ... champps was paying close to $13K a month for that spot ..

I do know that Mugshots received a discounted rent rate(do not know the terms, price, or length) because Chammps had paid a good amount of rent in advanced.
