Doing an early dinner with my grandparents tomorrow night. Anyone tried vessel yet? Or should we do the classics: Katie's or mandinas? Haven't tried toups yet either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

If you try Katies and their packed just go down the block to Liuzza's. They may enjoy the atmosphere there as it's like going back in time.

I don't think Vessel is what you're looking for, honestly. I popped in there back in July and the space was gorgeous, but my grandparents would be really uncomfortable there. I consider my grandparents cool as far as grandparents go, but small plates and cocktails wouldn't really be their scene.

Grandparents might also like Liuzzas. My dad loves the big frozen mugs of beer.
If looking for better, in addition to Toups, I'd recommend Lolas on Esplanade.

My grandparents love Venezia's as well.
