I can't speak to that, but MM is a decent national chain. Nothing more.

Feret is top tier

Maple is bottom tier

Oak is somewhere between

Disagree with this, I would say Maple Street after the addition of Vietnamese is still slightly behind the food game but catching up. The neighboorhood is alot less sketchy and it also has 3 bars you can rotate around.

Maple st bars appeal to college kids. So if that's your age bracket then I guess it could be cool.

Feret St isn't really that dangerous. I walked 6 blocks towards St Charles during Mardi gras at about 1am to get my car after leaving public house and didn't feel threatened. Even saw a few *gasp* black people!

I wasn't judging the areas in that order, I was just stating that the addition of crime may change the calculus.

As I believe Freret is the least safe area of the three but has the best food and bar scene.

Did it used to be? I've only lived here since August but I've never felt uncomfortable or worried there at all. I don't remember much from when I used to go to Friar Tuck's, it was always dark and I was 18.

Yes. Very much so.

Guy got murdered outside of a bar that is now Origami.

Yeah, it's still not the safest, but it is shaping up nicely.

I've driven through the area surrounding Freret and it is definitely beind gentrified. Slowly but surely.

It is a damn fine sandwich. The bread is just so good. Banh mi bread and the bread at Milk Bar are my favorites.

How can you compare Maple to Oak? Maple is full of douchebag college bars, unless I'm missing something...
