I've eaten at both in the last year and enjoyed Brigsten's better. Both were very good in my opinion.

Great insight, Gris Gris. Also want to mention Frank is a great guy. I was part of an event with him and we had some nice conversations. He is part of a circle of chef's/owners that dedicate their time and expense towards non-profits and other similar events and we can never thank them enough.

Been a few years, but I loved my experience at Brigsten's. I still think about it from time to time. Great food, awesome atmosphere. Felt like I was at a dinner party in someone's home.

I'll also add that Brigsten's was the best New Year's Eve meal I've had out. We have some friends that are regulars there which puts them on a special list. I believe they do 2 seatings that night and we had the first.

Total cost is $100 per person. That came with a ton of options. The first was a small plate with a bite for each person at the table. Something like a spread on a cracker type dish. Small but very good.

Then everybody got to choose an appetizer.

Then you chose your main dish.

Then you got your dessert.

And the kicker was...all the prosecco you wanted. For that reason, I had both a great time and poor memory of what I ate and what the options were. The food was great and they had many great options, including some things the staff told us they only do a couple times a year. I absolutely loved the meal.

I would save Clancy's for another time. It's pretty loud in there for something like a two person anniversary.

I would go to Brigtsen's and tell them it's your anniversary. I saw the chef congratulating a couple on their anniversary when I was there the other night. It's not a quiet restaurant necessarily, but there are several small rooms of tables. You may even want to ask for a room in the sunroom in the front if they put 2 people at a table in there. I think those two tables were 4 tops, but it doesn't hurt to ask. It's a little more private, though there were 3 2 tops, a 6 top and a 4 top in the room I was in.

I like both immensely. My only minor gripe is that I've found that sometimes Brigtsens is heavy-handed with the salt.

I also loved Charlie's when Frank was running it. Really bummed me out when he didn't renew the lease.
