Any recs for a good BBQ joint in San Antonio. Staying northwest off of 410, but willing to drive a bit. Looking for brisket/burnt ends.

TIA.

whatever you do, stay away from Bill Miller BBQ. its a chain down there and SA people love it, its dogshit

for where you will be and not counting any hill country places that are a drive, id recommend

The Big Bib

Smokin Joes BBQ

Google them, they are very solid and within 10 minutes from where you will be.

If you're driving, Luling is along the way - just off I-10. Lockhart is also doable if you're driving and have a little flexibility.

Stop at luling on the way or make the drive. City market is some of the best BBQ in the country. No burnt ends though (are those even a thing in Texas?)

While it is good, it's a bit overpriced. Drive about a mile down Broadway away from downtown and stop at The Smoke Shop.

I've eaten at Rudy's all over texas and my favorite has been the one in Austin off of I35. All the others haven't been quite as good.

Heard Rudy's was good but their sign says it's the worst barbecue in Texas. Might want to steer clear.
