If you are willing to drive a little over an hour you can get crabs for $12/dozen in Des Allemands. We did 8 dozen yesterday, they were mostly full nice sized males, I think they were what was left after taking out the jumbos, the jumbos were $25/dozen. The crabs we got would probably be $30 a dozen in BR.

This reply is late but if you join seafood for sale in louisiana on FB, there's a few folks that drives around major cities selling crabs. I drove down to Houma to pick up a bushel(5 doz) of large crabs for $85 from a crabber.
