looking for a spot for 6-8 folks to go for happy hour in Laffy. Mexican places are always fine....and we may do that, but curious if I am missing something.

Social is a consideration.

Don's downtown does half price appetizers and two fer one drinks in the bar area on Tuesdays. You can get their seafood bouquet for ten bucks which includes bacon wrapped oysters and shrimp. Also fried alligator and sometimes crab claws. It's not the most exciting place, but good happy hour specials. Try the old fashion with the rock candy swizzle stick.

My Dad used to bring us those rock candy swizzle sticks and the little plastic monkeys after going to Don's. I like their little bar area.

LaFonda... don't know about appetizers, I usually have bean dip, chips and margs.

I agree with Fa Fondas, get ya about 7 margaritas, eat some fried rabbit then stumble across the street to Social and drink some great bourbons

I very rarely recommend La Fonda's but for what you are doing its a good spot. Agave downtown is a fun spot as well.
Pamplona is a tapas bar, so all apps. basically
